Leadership
Child Health BC is a provincial health network whose Steering Committee brings together lead child health administrators and physician leaders from: all of BC's health authorities including the geographic health authorities, PHSA (BC Children's Hospital), First Nations Health Authority; UBC Department of Pediatrics, UBC Division of Pediatric Surgery; Perinatal Services BC; Principals and Vice-Principals Association of BC; and physician professional association leadership from the BC Pediatric Society and the Doctors of BC. The three key child serving ministries — the Ministry of Health, Ministry for Children and Family Development and the Ministry of Education — also are active participants at the Steering Committee table.
Child Health BC, is an initiative of BC Children's Hospital. It is generously supported by the BC Children's Hospital Foundation who have pledged 50 million dollars of support with lead benefactor Save On Foods. This inspiring commitment to leadership and to funding support provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a legacy for BC's children.
Child Health BC formally reports to the Ministry of Health through the Provincial Health Services Authority via the Vice President of Provincial Child Health.
