Maureen O'Donnell MD MSc FRCPC

Dr Maureen O'Donnell is the Executive Director of Child Health BC and Associate Professor in the UBC Department of Pediatrics.
Prior to her role with CHBC, Dr O'Donnell joined BC Children's Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children and UBC in 1993 after completing her MD, pediatric residency and fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics and a Masters of Science degree in Epidemiology. Her roles have included that of developmental pediatrician, Senior Medical Director, UBC Division Head for Developmental Pediatrics and Faculty member Child and Family Research Institute. She served as Special Advisor to BC's Deputy Minister of Health regarding children with special needs for almost 5 years. She assumed the leadership of CHBC in October 2010.
Dr O'Donnell is current member of the Boards of Directors for the Canadian Association of Pediatric Health Centres (CAPHC) and the Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids (TREKK) National Centre of Excellence. She has recently completed her term as President for the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. She was founding Chair of the Royal College's Committee on Developmental Pediatrics and continues to serve on the Royal College's Examination Board. She has served as President, Canadian Pediatric Society Developmental Section.
Jennifer Scarr RN, MSN
Provincial Director, Primary Care and Preventive Health
Child Health BC
Jennifer Scarr is Provincial Director, Primary Care and Preventive Health with Child Health BC. In this role she is focusing on provincial initiatives related to oral health, injury prevention, healthy weights, and child and youth health and well being indicators. Jennifer is also working on initiatives that support integrated primary and community care, specifically in the areas of asthma and diabetes.
Jennifer completed a Bachelor's of Nursing degree at the University of Manitoba and a Master's of Nursing Degree at the University of British Columbia. She has experience in public health nursing, prevention education, as well as project management. In her previous role at Vancouver Coastal Health, Jennifer led the implementation of provincial initiatives and provided leadership for regional projects.
Barb Kenny, MHS
Business Affairs Manager
Child Health BC
Barb Kenny is Business Affairs Manager for Child Health BC. In this role she provides financial leadership in budgeting, human resource expertise, analysis and operational business process reviews. Barb is involved in the development and coordination of strategic action and work plans in collaboration with leaders to optimize program initiatives.
Barb completed a Bachelor's in Leadership Management (Healthcare Specialty) at BCIT and a Master's Degree in Health Studies at Athabasca University in Alberta by distance ed. She has diverse experience in both public and private industry. Barb owned and operated her own business for 20 years before returning to healthcare. She has spent the last ten years in various administrative leadership roles at Sunny Hill Health Center for Children.
