Background/ Why Is This Important?
BC has a vast geography and many communities with small populations, yet children may live in any community and need specialist health services. Both specialist (pediatrician) and subspecialty health services located in Vancouver need to be accessible to any child in BC and work in partnership with primary care. Child Health BC has worked with partners from BC Children’s, the Regional Health Authorities and communities to develop both new services and improve sites for delivery of local services.
You can learn more about Child Health BC's specific activities to enhance care delivery in regions in the " Care Delivery" part of this website. More specifically, learn more about how Child Health BC has improved or built community facilities in the past by visiting the "In the Community" section of our website linked here.
